I have 40 years of experience in the field of Social Work beginning my career in Pittsburgh.  My background includes working in community mental health in a range of positions beginning with homeless outreach, leading a mobile crisis team and conducting emergency evaluations at the psychiatric emergency center.  After receiving my MSW, I worked in private managed care where I managed discharge planning efforts for a number of companies, conducting utilization review and conducting cost-benefit analyses to ensure cost and care effectiveness.  I wanted to move on to macro level social work and became a consultant to Allegheny County Mental Health Program working on State Hospital Closures, Implementation of the Act 152 Drug and Alcohol Program, and shifting to person-centered planning for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities being discharged from State Centers.  
 
In 1996, I moved to Philadelphia to become the Director of the Female Offender Program for the Court of Common Pleas which provided assessment and case management services to women and women with children  in need of substance use treatment who were involved in the criminal justice system.  One year later, I became the Director of Clinical Care Management at Community Behavioral Health, the City of Philadelphia's Medicaid Managed Care Organization, a Division within the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS).  In 1999, my role expanded to provide clinical consultation to the Department of Human Services (DHS) as well as Family Court as well as to other social service departments in the City.  Today, I continue in the role of Senior Director of Clinical Consultation conducting joint home visits, testifying in Family Court as an expert witness on case conceptualization, and developing a system of care for individuals with co-occurring mental health conditions and developmental disabilities.  I offer a range of trainings and technical assistance at both the micro and macro levels of social work practice.
